Valparaiso, Chile earthquake Thursday Oct. 11, 2012
- magnitude: 5.5
- location: Valparaiso, Chile
- date: 10/11/12
- time: 1:22:10 PM
- depth (where the focus occurred): 50.89 mi
- basic type of tectonic plate boundary: basing it on the fact that the earthquake happened in Chile, I think it is on an oceanic-to-continent plate boundary

- provide the volcano name.
- label which type of volcano it is.
- what type of tectonic plate boundary it occurs on (i.e. oceanic-oceanic, oceanic-continental, divergent, or hot spot).
- provide an image using Google Earth (just like you did with earthquakes). Feel free to make them in 3D for visual effect!
- For example, if your chosen volcano is Mount St. Helens (see image on the right), what type of volcano is it? What type of plate boundary is it on (this determines why there is a volcano there to begin with).
Mount St. Helens
A composite ( or stratovolcano) volcano on an oceanic-continent plate boundary

Mauna Kea
A shield volcano in Hawaii, located on a hotspot.

Paracutin
A cinder cone volcano in Mexico located on an oceanic-continent plate boundary
